You might be asking yourself - Who is a beginner? Who is ‘intermediate’? And who is advanced?
There is no rule book here, right?
So how do YOU properly qualify yourself in or out of this online road cycling course?
An easy one for you…
You've plateaued in your road cycling performance, but you're not satisfied. You know you can improve!
If you were like me - all those years ago when I purchased my first road bike - you buy your bike, get a quick fit, and walk out the door with very little understanding of the fundamentals of how to improve your road cycling. Such as:
- How to properly set the bike up to train and perform optimally
- How to train skills to improve confidence and handling
- How to build your base fitness to take your road cycling to the next level
- Understand the 7 training zones & how to implement them. Both heart rate and power specific
- Understanding the blueprint to structured training, that will take your performance to the next level
My story from intermediate to next level…
Personally, after 5 years of road cycling, I'd somehow made my way to B grade in the local criteriums without any understanding of how to train properly or handle the bike. After a failed attempt with an online cycle coaching company, I found a reputable cycling coach based in Melbourne (Australia), David Sturt, aka Steggles. Head Coach of The Hurt Box (check out their Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/TheHurtBox/
Steggles has been a road cycling coach of 10 years that has a proven track record in taking intermediate cyclists from middle of the pack to winning races and/or outperforming their wildest dreams in mass participation events.
After a few weeks of being coached by Steggles, I had learned more about road cycling than I had in the 5 years prior - watching cycling YouTube videos, chatting with local club racers, and reading some road cycling training books.
As a result of my learning from Steggles, I went from an average B Grade rider, to winning B grade races and then being competitive in A Grade. More importantly, I become more confident on the bike and started to enjoy my road cycling even more. Everything became clearer.

Reflecting many years later, I wish I had invested in my fundamental knowledge of road cycling in the early days. Setting the foundations right, leads to bigger and better opportunities in life. Or in this case, road cycling.
That is why I am very pleased to be able to offer this online course to you.
David has 10 years of experience coaching athletes from elite juniors to the weekend warrior looking to beat their mates around the block.
David's knowledge and understanding of both fundamental skills and training with structure has given him the reputation he deserves in the great city of Melbourne. The results his athletes have obtained speak for themselves.
